Cordracious Jacqueli Carpede, better known as Jacqui Carpede is a highly versatile South African pop vocalist, songwriter, and dramatic actress, widely recognized as a foundational member of the historic all-female musical trio Jamali. Raised in the vibrant community of Eldorado Park, Johannesburg, her inherent performance instincts were nurtured from early childhood through formal dance training and competitive local talent searches.
Carpede’s monumental career breakthrough unfolded in 2004 when she auditioned for the national reality music television series Coca-Cola Popstars. The competition united her with vocalists Mariechan Luiters and Liesl Penniken to form Jamali, an act that quickly evolved into one of the most commercially successful South African girl groups in history.
Over a decorated fifteen-year tenure, Carpede co-wrote and fronted massive chart-topping radio anthems like "Greatest Love" and "Love Me for Me," while capturing a prestigious South African Music Award (SAMA) for their acclaimed album 3rd Base.
Following the group's historic final curtain call in 2019, Carpede aggressively expanded her artistic horizon as a multi-hyphenate creator.
She launched an independent solo recording career, exploring electronic dance rhythms on her debut solo album “Ready To Love.” Simultaneously, she successfully pivoted into professional acting, commanding lead roles across elite theatrical venues like The Market Theatre and securing prominent acting credits on national television networks including e.tv and kykNET.
