Hennie Jacobs is an accomplished South African actor, singer, songwriter, and comedian with an entertainment career spanning over two decades across television, theatre, and music. He matriculated from Hoërskool Waterkloof and initially studied Hotel and Tourism Management at the University of Pretoria before pivoting to the arts. He subsequently earned a National Diploma in Drama from the Tshwane University of Technology in 2003. Jacobs built his professional foundation through diverse performance mediums, including children's theatre, live pub music, shopping mall statue miming, and mainstream stage productions such as Karla en die Kersknol alongside Lizz Meiring.
He achieved widespread recognition for his definitive 13-year portrayal of Diederik Greyling on the popular SABC2 Afrikaans soap opera 7de Laan, complemented by notable roles in television series like Song vir Katryn 2 and Dryfsand.
As a recording artist signed to Vonk Musiek, Jacobs releases contemporary Afrikaans pop and folk-pop music under his birth name and his stage alias, Hendrik Boerr. His musical catalogue includes four studio albums: his 2006 debut "Chilli Confessions," the 2013 release Velcrohart featuring the hit track "Soen," the 2014 storytelling project "Dit Is Die Land," and his 2017 modern pop album "Lyflam," which includes the popular single "Padreis" and a prominent duet version of "Jolene" with Hildegardt Silkiewicz.
In pursuit of international creative opportunities, Jacobs relocated to Auckland, New Zealand.
