In the late 1970s, Miller commenced his musical journey by performing in various bands across South Africa.
In 1981, he relocated to London, where he quickly made a name for himself as a highly sought-after bassist within the UK jazz circuit.
His collaborations included renowned artists like pianist Stan Tracey, drummer Tony Oxley, and saxophonist Evan Parker.
He was renowned for his innovative and virtuosic approach to playing the double bass, which incorporated various extended techniques such as bowing the strings.
Miller died December 6, 2010, at the age of 57, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most innovative and respected double bassists in the UK jazz scene.
