H Magnum, born Guy‑Hervé Imboua in Yopougon, Ivory Coast, moved to Paris as a child, growing up in the 20th arrondissement. Immersed in the city’s rap scene, he began performing with local collectives like Aconit and L’Injection Lyricale, developing his lyrical ability and stage presence. His early breakthrough came in 2009 when he was invited to open for Akon at Bercy, followed by performances with influential French rap acts, establishing him as a rising figure in the Francophone hip-hop scene.
He has released several albums, including “Rafales,” (2009), “Dream,” (2012), “Fin de Dream (Avant Gotham City),” (2013), “Gotham City,” (2016), “Obade,” (2020), and “Bansky,” (2021). Gotham City reached #16 on French charts, while Dream peaked at #12 on digital charts. Singles such as “Idem” and “Garde l’équilibre” (featuring Indila) have earned millions of streams.
H Magnum is also a sought-after songwriter and collaborator. He has contributed to Gims’ multi-platinum albums "Mon cœur avait raison and "Ceinture noire," and worked with top French rap artists including Maître Gims, Black M, Kery James, Diam’s, Rohff, and Sexion d’Assaut, earning respect as a key creative force in the French-Ivorian rap community.
Through decades of releases, live performances, and collaborations, H Magnum has maintained a prominent presence in the music industry, balancing solo work with behind-the-scenes contributions, and solidifying his status as a respected and versatile figure in contemporary French rap.
