General C’mamane, born Luanelle Luphelele Simamane, is a South African Gqom producer and DJ from KwaZulu-Natal. He is known for his hard-hitting, bass-driven production style that blends Gqom’s raw percussive energy with modern electronic and African rhythmic influences, positioning him as one of the younger voices in South Africa’s underground dance music movement.
He emerged in the late 2010s after beginning music production in 2018, quickly gaining attention for his distinctive sound and high-output approach to releases. Early in his career, he distributed free projects that helped him build a following within the Gqom scene and attract attention from established DJs and producers.
