Frenzyoffixial is the stage name of John Oluwafemi Ogungbenro, a Nigerian-born singer, songwriter, producer, and recording artist whose music blends Afrobeats, Amapiano, Afropop, and contemporary African dance sounds. Born and raised in Ibadan, he developed an early interest in music by listening to influential Nigerian artists such as Ebenezer Obey, Fela Kuti, and King Sunny Ade. Their work helped shape his vocal style and musical direction.
Frenzyoffixial began his recording career in 2012 with the singles "Bank" and "Kose." As his career developed, he expanded beyond traditional Afrobeats and embraced collaborations across Southern Africa. In 2018, he released "Billoco" alongside the South African duo 'Distruction Boyz,' introducing his sound to a broader regional audience.
In 2019, he released the EP "Ire," which included the song "Owo" featuring Demmie Vee. The release helped establish his profile as an emerging Afrobeat artist with cross-border appeal. During this period, he relocated to Johannesburg, where he immersed himself in South Africa's music scene and began incorporating Amapiano influences into his work.
His fusion of Afrobeats and Amapiano evolved into a sound he describes as "PianoJollof," reflecting the combination of Nigerian musical traditions and South African dance music. This concept became the foundation of his debut album, "Pianojollof," released in 2022. The release featured collaborations with artists including MFR Souls, Kammu Dee, Bizizi, Kaygee, Eemoh, Phiphi, and others. According to published reports, the album achieved strong early commercial success and significantly expanded his audience.
Among his notable releases are "Blessings," "Skata," "Monii," "More," "Gusheshe," "Zaka," "Jola," "12am In Lagos," "Villa," "Cigarette," "Valenciana," "Gawu," "Legendary," "Olowo," "VA VOOM," and "Money." His work has featured collaborations with artists such as Eemoh, Phiphi, Don Steazy, DeeTheGeneral, Jeezy Fire, Phelo Bala, and MFR Souls.
Beyond recording, Frenzyoffixial has performed in Nigeria, Ghana, Botswana, Eswatini, and South Africa. His music emphasizes self-confidence, self-love, perseverance, and cultural exchange, positioning him among a growing group of African artists bridging West African and Southern African sounds. He has released music through Jay O Records and continues to develop his PianoJollof concept while expanding his presence across the continent.
