Emily Bruce is a highly versatile South African vocalist and performer, best known for her long-standing collaboration with the electronic-jazz duo "Goldfish". Born in 1980, she pursued her musical education at the University of Cape Town’s College of Music, where she earned a Performer’s Diploma in Jazz Vocals. Her career took off significantly in 2007 after she won the "Vivacious Voice" national songwriting competition, a victory that preceded the release of her debut jazz album, "This Love We Share".
While rooted in jazz, Bruce gained international recognition for her work in the electronic scene. She provided the melodic vocals for some of "Goldfish"’s most enduring tracks, including the global hits "Get Busy Living", "Choose Your Own Adventure", and "In Too Deep". She is an active performer in theatre and cabaret, and continues to be a prominent figure in the Cape Town jazz circuit.
