Elyzée Illunga Mubikay, professionally known as Elizée, is a Congolese-born singer, songwriter, and record producer recognized for his contribution to contemporary African R&B, hip-hop, and alternative music. He has built his reputation as both a solo artist and behind-the-scenes creative force, blending emotive songwriting with modern trap-soul and alternative R&B production.
He gained wider recognition through his work with South African artist Elaine Mukheli, where he co-wrote and co-produced several standout tracks, helping shape her early signature sound. His production style is defined by atmospheric textures, melodic layering, and emotionally driven arrangements, often combining hip-hop rhythm with soulful vocal direction.
In 2019, he released the collaborative EP "Lavish Mentality" with Malachi, showcasing his versatility as both a performer and producer. The release included tracks such as “Drip,” “Cost,” and “Mustang,” further establishing his presence in the underground R&B and hip-hop scene.
His most defining solo project came in 2020 with the 9-track album "BLK SHP," released under Sony Music Entertainment Africa. The album runs for about 27 minutes and features key songs such as “Don’t Call Me,” “What’s Good,” “Lose Myself,” and “Free Me.” The project highlights his introspective storytelling, blending rap, alternative R&B, and experimental production.
In 2021, he followed up with the EP "Couldn’t Stay the Same," a more reflective body of work that continued his exploration of emotional themes, personal growth, and sonic experimentation.
