Journey
Eleftherios Mukuka, known to his global audience as El Mukuka, is a Zambian-Greek DJ, record producer, and songwriter recognized for his vibrant contributions to the melodic house and Afro-house movements.
Born in Lusaka, Zambia, to a Greek mother and a Zambian father, Mukuka grew up surrounded by a diverse blend of Mediterranean and Southern African cultures. This rich upbringing profoundly shaped his creative perspective. His fascination with music creation began in his teenage years when he started programming hip-hop beats in his bedroom. To fully hone his craft, he relocated to Boston, Massachusetts, to study music production at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where his focus permanently shifted toward electronic dance music.
Mukuka made a massive entry into the international music landscape in 2016 with his breakout track "Bottle of Loneliness" featuring Kayla Jacobs. The single achieved major chart success and heavy radio play across Europe, instantly establishing him as a top-tier African electronic music export. His impressive catalog includes full-length studio projects like "Zebra" and "33", as well as hit tracks like "Te Ou" and "Bosana" alongside Congolese superstar Gaz Mawete, and "Lost" featuring Nigerian star Adekunle Gold.
His infectious, groove-heavy sound has earned him high-profile recording deals with international heavyweights like Ultra Records and Sony Music Africa.
Mukuka has taken his live sets to over twenty countries, performing at major festivals including Ultra Music Festival South Africa and the Vic Falls Carnival, he continues to push the boundaries of Afro-house through his joint-venture imprint, "SOSHA Records"
