Journey
Leago Sinclair Moganedi, widely recognized as EeQue (or EeQue TheDreama), is a South African artist whose work has significantly influenced the modern Amapiano landscape. Born and raised in KwaThema, Johannesburg, EeQue began his musical journey in his early teens, initially finding his voice in hip-hop. His stage name serves as a mission statement, signifying his "equivalent" mastery of both street-level rap and the dance-heavy pulse of the Amapiano genre.
His breakout moment came through several defining collaborations that shaped the sound of 2023 and 2024. Most notably, he featured on "Tshwala Bam" by TitoM & Yuppe, a track that became a worldwide phenomenon and received a high-profile remix from Burna Boy. This success followed his earlier impact on "Yahyuppiyah" by Uncle Waffles, Tony Duardo, and Justin99, as well as the high-energy anthem "Zotata" by Pcee & Justin99. These tracks showcased his unique "Kasi" delivery a style deeply rooted in South African township culture making him a sought-after collaborator for major artists like Focalistic on the hit "Khekheleza (Dlala Dlala)."
EeQue expanded his reach across the continent with the “SNOKONOKO ,” Continental Stacks project alongside Al Xapo and Benzoo. This series of releases featured pan-African stars such as Shallipopi from Nigeria and Joshua Baraka from Uganda, bridging the gap between Southern and West African music markets. Through solo projects like The EEQualizer and Concrete Jungle, EeQue continues to evolve, proving his versatility as both a lyricist and a rhythmic pioneer in the global electronic scene.
