Jonathon Ng, stage name EDEN, is an Irish singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. He began his musical development at a young age, receiving classical training in violin before independently learning piano, guitar, and drums. This early foundation contributed to his later reputation as a self-sufficient producer capable of composing, performing, and engineering his own work.
He first emerged under the alias “The Eden Project” in 2013, releasing a series of electronic-oriented tracks influenced by dubstep and drum-and-bass. During this period, he built an online following through independent platforms and established himself within the digital music community.
In 2015, Ng retired the alias and rebranded as EDEN, marking a deliberate artistic transition toward a more minimalist and emotionally reflective sound. This shift coincided with the establishment of his independent label MCMXCV, through which he maintains creative control over his releases.
His early work as EDEN, including the EPs "End Credits" in 2015 and "I Think You Think Too Much of Me" in 2016, established his signature style—characterized by atmospheric production, fragmented vocal processing, and introspective lyricism. These releases positioned him as a prominent figure in the global alternative and indie-electronic scene.
Ng’s debut studio album "Vertigo" in 2018 expanded his artistic profile, followed by "No Future" in 2020 and "ICYMI" in 2022, each reflecting continued evolution in tone and thematic depth. Across his discography, his work frequently explores identity, memory, emotional isolation, and personal transformation.
EDEN is widely regarded as an independent artist who operates outside traditional label structures, maintaining full involvement in writing, production, and performance. His music is often described as cinematic and immersive, with a strong emphasis on atmosphere and emotional authenticity.
