He is a celebrated South African singer, songwriter, and guitarist, renowned for his vibrant Afrikaans pop and dance music. He leads his own band with Divan Lerm (drums), Stanley Hill (bass), and Manie Mongia (guitar), performing both original compositions and popular covers in English and Afrikaans.
Wells began his career in the mid-2000s with the release of his debut album, Heeltyd Speeltyd, earning a SAMA nomination for Best Afrikaans Dance Album. He followed with albums such as "Jy’s Die Een," "’n Stukkie Van Jou Hart," and "Desiré," the latter winning a Bokkie Music Award for Most Popular Male Artist in the Western Cape and a Huisgenoot Tempo Award nomination. Later works include "Dans My Verlief" (2015) and singles like “Niemand Anders Soos Jy Nie” and “Kom Lewe In My.”
Wells’ music, featured on major radio stations and TV programs such as Fiësta, Toks & Tjops, Musiek Roulette, and Jukebox, has appeared on over 600,000 compilation albums. Known for his energetic stage presence and lyrics, he skillfully blends rhythmic dance beats with emotional storytelling.
