Nicodimas Sekheta Mogashoa, professionally known as Da Capo, is a South African DJ, record producer, and songwriter celebrated for his influential contributions to Afro-house and deep house music. Born on 9 June 1992 in Seshego, Limpopo, South Africa, he developed a passion for music at an early age and later became one of the country's most respected electronic music producers.
Da Capo began his musical journey as a rapper before shifting his focus to house music. A self-taught producer, he spent years refining his craft and building a distinctive sound characterized by rich African rhythms, soulful melodies, and deep electronic elements. His breakthrough came after remixing Moneoa’s "Pretty Disaster," which led to a recording deal with Soulstic Music.
In 2017, he released "Indigo Child," a landmark album that achieved double-platinum certification in South Africa and established him as a leading figure in Afro-house music. He later expanded his career through projects such as "Genesys," "Return to the Beginning," "Bakone," and "Indigo Child II: Love & Frequency."
Throughout his career, Da Capo has collaborated with renowned artists, performed internationally, and earned several awards, including the 2019 DJ Award for Best Afro House Artist. Today, he continues to shape the global Afro-house scene through innovative productions, energetic performances, and his independent label, Genesys Entity.
