Raised in South Africa amid evolving township dance movements, he initially entered the music industry under the moniker Dr Bean. He eventually rebranded to Bean RSA to proudly reflect his national identity as his signature sound matured.
Before stepping into the center spotlight, Monyai established himself as a highly sought-after collaborator behind the scenes. He acted as a vital composer and co-producer for prominent acts, including the Pretoria-based collective The Lowkeys.
