Basil "Manenberg" Coetzee was a South African singer and saxophonist. He was best known for his recording work with Abdullah Ibrahim, particularly on the composition "Mannenberg," which became a South African jazz classic and is internationally renowned.
Coetzee was signed to the Cape Town-based Mountain Records label for much of his career and made his only solo albums for the label.
In 1988, he toured Europe and released the album "Sabenza" .
