Rising in the early 2010s, he became a leading voice of the "New School" Bongo Flava movement, which emphasized polished production and a contemporary urban approach. Under the mentorship of producer Hermy B, Avid developed a signature style centered on smooth, melodic hooks that combined modern R&B with Tanzanian musical influences.
He is best known for his work on the classic track "U Can Never Be Me," a collaboration with rapper Jay Moe and Mims (Mimi), where his emotive delivery cemented his reputation as one of the region’s standout vocalists.
