Journey
André Venter, professionally known as André M. Musiek, is a South African singer, songwriter, and producer whose work blends contemporary Christian sound with Afrikaans storytelling. Born on 27 December 1976 in the town of Vrede in the Free State, André grew up in a close community where family, faith, and music shaped much of his early life. His first exposure to singing came through church activities, where he quickly developed a love for worship music and the emotional expression it offered. These early influences laid the foundation for the musical direction he would later pursue.
As a young adult, André experienced a period of personal reflection that deepened his spiritual outlook and ultimately guided him toward faith-centered artistry. Before emerging as a solo performer, he became widely known as a member of the vocal group Romanz, contributing to their rich harmonies and helping the ensemble reach national and international audiences. When the group disbanded in 2014, André chose to realign his creative path with his personal convictions, leading to the launch of his solo career in 2019.
Since then, he has released a steady stream of Afrikaans and Christian music under the André M. Musiek name, crafting songs that emphasize encouragement, devotion, and everyday experiences. His warm delivery and thoughtful writing have earned him a loyal following among listeners seeking sincerity and inspiration. André continues to create and perform from his home base in Cape Town, supported by his wife, Berrie, and driven by a calling to use music as a source of hope and connection.
