Andile Gaelesiwe, popularly known as Andile, is a South African recording artist, songwriter, and television presenter whose career spans music, broadcasting, and social advocacy. Born in Soweto, she entered the music industry in her early twenties and established herself within the kwaito genre through locally released albums and a commercially distributed single under BMG Records.
She expanded her professional activities into radio broadcasting through training and employment at YFM in Johannesburg. During this period, she founded and led YCARES, a corporate social responsibility initiative addressing youth development, HIV/AIDS awareness, education, and social intervention programs.
In 2006, Andile transitioned into national television as the presenter of 'Khumbul’ekhaya', a docu-reality series on SABC1 focused on family reunification and conflict resolution. Her long-term role on the program established her as a consistent media presence, with the show maintaining high national viewership across multiple seasons.
Parallel to her media career, she developed a structured advocacy platform addressing sexual violence. Following public disclosure of her own childhood abuse, she initiated the Open Disclosure programme, which evolved into a broader intervention model providing access to counseling, legal support, and community engagement.
