Journey
From Alexandra near Johannesburg comes Tumie Maimane Seoke, known professionally as AcuteDose, a rising force in South Africa’s Amapiano genre. Signed to the independent Johannesburg-based label Piano Hub, he has steadily built a reputation as both a DJ and producer with a knack for sleek, dance-ready tracks.
AcuteDose began releasing music in the mid-2010s, debuting with the house single “Deep Imagination” in 2015 and following it up with the collaborative First Installment EP in 2019. By 2020–2021, he was fully immersed in Amapiano, dropping projects and DJ mixes that expanded his reach, including his acclaimed debut album Bekezela (2021).
He has since grown his discography with releases like Angeke (2022), the seven-track Maimane EP (2022), Yasho EP (2023), and his most recent A Short Story EP (2025). Through collaborations with names such as Villosoul, Kabza De Small, Focalistic, Mhaw Keys, Koppz Avenue, and Djy Vino, AcuteDose has become a recognizable name within the genre’s community.
As at 2025, no major national awards have yet arrived, but his projects frequently feature on South African music platforms and playlists, marking him as one of Amapiano’s steadily ascending talents. With each release, AcuteDose continues to refine his sound, showing the consistency and collaborative spirit that keep him at the heart of the movement.
