Joseph Shabalala, was a South African musician. He was the lead vocalist, founder and musical director of South African choral group, Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
Shabalala's choral group was initially called The Black Ones and later changed to Ladysmith Black Mambazo after series of spiritual encounter in dreams and how well his group did at a weekly isicathamiya competitions.
The break came for the choral group after American musician, Paul Simon, partnered with them for his album, Graceland.
