Journey
Widely known for his signature sound, which he describes as “jirating gospel” a fusion of Afrobeat rhythms, Nigerian Pidgin English, and spiritually uplifting lyrics. Prince Emmanuel (professionally spelled Prinx Emmanuel) is a Nigerian singer-songwriter, music producer, and sound engineer who has redefined gospel music with his energetic, Afrobeats-infused sound. Growing up as the eldest of six children, he faced the challenges of losing his father at a young age but remained steadfast in his faith and passion for music. He completed his education in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Port Harcourt in 2021.
His ability to make gospel music feel both sacred and danceable has endeared him to a younger audience. His songs are not just about worship; they are about joyful celebration and the expression of faith.
In 2016, Prinx Emmanuel officially launched his music career with the release of his debut single, “Brother Nwachukwu.” Though the song showcased his unique blend of gospel and Afrobeats influences, it took a few years before his music reached mainstream success. His breakthrough came in 2022 with the viral sensation “Kumama Papa,” a collaboration with Grace Lokwa and Moses Bliss. The song quickly became a global hit, especially on TikTok, where it inspired countless dance challenges and covers, cementing his status as one of Nigeria’s most exciting gospel artists.
Beyond his viral hits, Prinx Emmanuel has continued to release impactful gospel songs, perform at major events, and collaborate with some of the industry’s biggest names. He has graced the stage at The Experience, one of Nigeria’s largest gospel concerts, performing alongside Travis Greene, Sinach, Nathaniel Bassey, Naomi Raine, and Donnie McClurkin. His work has also been recognized with awards, including the 2022 Galaxy Music Award for Best Gospel Song and a Clima Award nomination for Discovery of the Year.
Outside of the studio and stage, Prinx Emmanuel is known for his humorous and charismatic personality, often engaging his audience with witty remarks and lighthearted social media posts.
