Balatedi Folai aka Beast Thrust, is the thunder behind Overthrust’s relentless death metal assault. Born in Maun, Botswana, he was the band’s original drummer, joining shortly after its formation in 2008. Though he stepped away for a time, tragedy called him back, following the loss of Gakeitse Bothalentwa (Suicide Torment) in 2018, he reclaimed the drum throne, ensuring Overthrust’s pulse never faded. More than just a percussion powerhouse, Folai plays a hand in the band’s songwriting, with credits on tracks like "Fallen Witches." His crushing rhythms and old-school ferocity have propelled Overthrust onto global stages.
Metal runs deep in his veins—thanks to his father, Mr. Folai aka Triple H, a die-hard metalhead who passed down the love of heavy music to the entire Folai family. With a household built on bone-crushing riffs and thunderous drums, it was only natural for Beast Thrust to rise as one of Botswana’s fiercest drummers.
